Sahe Da Silva is renowned for his attention to detail, which has translated well into his extensive experience in conducting due diligence in Timor-Leste, in his capacity as advisor to acquirers of business interests and to major international banks and other financiers providing financial accommodation to Timor-Leste-based businesses and major infrastructure projects.
Sahe holds a Bachelor of Business (Major in Accounting) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Prior to founding DTA, Sahe was a lawyer with Corrs Chambers Westgarth, one of Australia’s leading law firms. Though his practice at Corrs was mainly focused on banking & finance law, Sahe also spent some time in the Planning and Environment Group where he worked on compulsory land acquisitions by Government Authorities for major infrastructure works. This included a secondment stint to the then Roads and Traffic Authority of New South Wales where he worked exclusively on the compulsory acquisition of land for the construction of major arterial roads and highways in the State of New South Wales, Australia.
Apart from his legal experience, Sahe is very active on decarbonization, being responsible for co-managing the Rai Matak project (Green Lands, in Tetum), an innovative initiative co-founded by Sahe and funded by the European Union (USD 3 million grant) that aims to support the development of the green economy in Timor-Leste, reduce carbon emissions that lead to climate change, bring income to Timorese farmers, reforest environmentally degraded areas, and help rural communities thrive. At Rai Matak, Sahe is mainly responsible for Government and Donor Relations, where he routinely engages with all levels of Government on the development of the Timor-Leste green economy, including the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Secretary of State for Environment, the National Designate Authority for Climate Change, and the National Directorate for Climate Change.
Sahe speaks English, Tetum, and Portuguese.
